Bridgetown is the capital city of Barbados and just about a 25-30 minutes’ drive from the main airport on the island (Grantley Adams Airport). This is also where major cruise lines dock when visiting so you’ll find plenty of attractions and fun things to do. When you stay at one of the many luxury resorts in Bridgetown, you’ll be just a short way from the beautiful Carlisle Bay that features beautiful light blue waters and plenty of water activities like boating and jet-skiing. Not only is this a divine beach location, but it is also filled with history from its British colonial roots. Check out the Barbados Garrison or the shipwreck ruins at Carlisle Bay Marine Park.
Located on the East Coast of the Island in the parish of St. Joseph, you can find amazing photo opportunities and great surfing. This side of the island is away from the bigger resorts but is still only about a 30-minute drive. There are unique rock formations protruding from the sand which makes it truly stunning to just relax and beach lounge, but the consistent big waves also make this a legendary surfing beach.
